In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
Customer means the individual or organisation booking and paying for the services.
Services means carpet, rug, upholstery, mattress, hard floor and related cleaning services, as agreed at the time of booking.
Premises means the property or location where the services are to be carried out.

2. Scope of Services
Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning provides professional cleaning services primarily focused on carpets, rugs and upholstery, as well as related domestic and commercial cleaning tasks as may be agreed from time to time.
The exact scope of the services, including the number of rooms or items, type of material, and any additional tasks, will be agreed at the time of booking and confirmed in the booking confirmation.
All services are provided subject to access to the Premises, the state and condition of the items to be cleaned, and the availability of utilities such as electricity and water.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be requested by the Customer through the methods made available by Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning from time to time, including online forms or other enquiry channels.
3.2 The Customer must provide accurate and complete information at the time of booking, including the address of the Premises, type and number of areas or items to be cleaned, any known stains or damage, access restrictions, and any relevant health and safety information.
3.3 A booking is not confirmed until Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning has accepted the booking request and issued a booking confirmation. Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to decline any booking request at its discretion.
3.4 The Customer is responsible for checking that the details in the booking confirmation are correct and must notify Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning as soon as reasonably possible if any changes are required.
4. Pricing and Quotes
4.1 Prices may be provided as an initial estimate based on the information supplied by the Customer. Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to adjust the price if the information provided was inaccurate or incomplete, or if the condition or size of the areas or items to be cleaned differs materially from what was described.
4.2 Any revised price will be communicated to the Customer before work begins or, where this is not reasonably possible, as soon as the variation becomes apparent. If the Customer does not agree to the revised price, Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning may cancel the booking without liability, save that any deposits already paid may be refunded at the discretion of Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning, except for reasonable administrative costs.
4.3 All prices are stated in pounds sterling. If applicable, taxes will be made clear at the time of booking.
5. Payments
5.1 Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking and may include payment in advance, a deposit, or payment on completion of the services.
5.2 Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning accepts payment by methods made available from time to time, which may include card payments, bank transfer, or other cashless methods. Cash may be accepted only if expressly agreed in advance.
5.3 Where a deposit is required, the booking will not be fully confirmed until the deposit has been received. Deposits may be non-refundable in certain circumstances, as set out in the cancellation section below.
5.4 For commercial customers or larger projects, Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning may issue invoices with specified payment terms. Late payment may incur interest and administrative charges in accordance with applicable UK law.
6. Cancellations and Amendments
6.1 The Customer may cancel or amend a booking subject to providing reasonable notice. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, at least 24 hours notice prior to the scheduled start time is required to avoid a cancellation fee.
6.2 If the Customer cancels with less than 24 hours notice, Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of up to 50 percent of the quoted service price or retain any deposit paid, to cover loss of time and administrative costs.
6.3 If the Technician attends the Premises at the agreed time and is unable to gain access, or if the Customer is not present where necessary and has not provided arrangements for access, this may be treated as a late cancellation and a call-out or cancellation charge may apply.
6.4 Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning may cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to staff illness, severe weather, transport disruption or equipment failure. In such cases, Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will offer an alternative appointment time. Where no suitable alternative can be agreed, any monies paid for the affected booking will be refunded.
7. Customer Responsibilities
7.1 The Customer must ensure that the Premises are safe and accessible for the Technician, including clear access to the areas to be cleaned and safe use of any provided parking or entry systems.
7.2 The Customer must remove small items, fragile objects, valuables and any personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned. Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning accepts no liability for damage to or loss of items that were not removed or were left in the Technician’s working area.
7.3 The Customer must inform Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning in advance of any known defects, pre-existing damage, or special requirements relating to carpets, upholstery or flooring, including colour instability, loose seams, previous repairs, or the presence of materials that may be adversely affected by standard cleaning processes.
7.4 Children, pets and other occupants should be kept away from the work areas and equipment during and immediately after the service to ensure safety and to allow adequate drying time.
8. Performance of the Services
8.1 Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will perform the services with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate cleaning methods and products for the type of material and level of soiling, as assessed by the Technician.
8.2 While every reasonable effort will be made to remove stains and marks, Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning does not guarantee complete stain removal or restoration of items to their original condition. Certain stains may be permanent, and wear, fading or damage may become more apparent after cleaning.
8.3 Drying times are estimates only and can vary depending on ventilation, temperature, humidity and the type of material. The Customer is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation and following any aftercare advice provided by the Technician.
8.4 Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to refuse to clean any item or area that, in the opinion of the Technician, may be unsafe, unsuitable, or at high risk of damage.
9. Waste Handling and Environmental Compliance
9.1 Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will handle and dispose of any waste generated in the course of providing the services in accordance with relevant UK waste and environmental regulations.
9.2 Standard domestic waste, such as collected dust and light debris from carpets and upholstery, will normally be left in the Customer’s usual household waste system unless otherwise agreed.
9.3 Where specialist or regulated waste arises in the course of the services, Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will follow applicable legal requirements. Additional charges may apply if specialist disposal is required, and this will be communicated to the Customer where reasonably practicable.
9.4 The Customer agrees not to request or require any disposal or handling of waste that would breach UK waste regulations or local requirements.
10. Liability and Limitations
10.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter that cannot be legally limited or excluded under UK law.
10.2 Subject to the above, Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will not be liable for:
a. any pre-existing damage, wear, fading, discolouration, shrinkage or defects in carpets, upholstery or other items, whether or not apparent before the services are carried out
b. any damage arising from defects or weaknesses in the materials cleaned or in the construction of flooring or furnishings
c. any indirect, consequential or purely economic loss, including loss of profit, loss of business or loss of opportunity.
10.3 The total liability of Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning in respect of any claim arising out of or in connection with the services will be limited to the price paid for the specific service in respect of which the claim arises, except where a higher amount is required by law.
10.4 The Customer must notify Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning of any complaint or claim relating to the services within 48 hours of completion of the work, or within a reasonable period if the issue could not reasonably have been discovered within 48 hours. Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, to rectify any alleged defect.
11. Insurance
Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning maintains insurance cover appropriate for a professional cleaning business. Details of current cover may be made available to Customers on reasonable request. The existence of insurance does not extend or increase the liability of Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning beyond that set out in these Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
12. Access, Parking and Keys
12.1 The Customer is responsible for providing safe and lawful parking or entry arrangements for the Technician where required. Any parking charges or access fees reasonably incurred in relation to the service may be added to the final invoice.
12.2 If keys or access devices are provided, Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will take reasonable care of them and will return them upon completion of the services. Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from defects or problems with existing locks, alarms or access systems.
13. Health and Safety
13.1 Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will carry out the services in a manner that is, so far as reasonably practicable, safe for its Technicians, the Customer and other occupants of the Premises.
13.2 The Customer must inform Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning of any health and safety risks at the Premises, including but not limited to loose flooring, electrical hazards, restricted access, or the presence of hazardous substances.
13.3 Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning may refuse to carry out or may suspend the services if, in the opinion of the Technician, there is a serious health and safety risk.
14. Data Protection and Privacy
14.1 Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning will collect and process personal data only as necessary to manage bookings, deliver services and handle payments and enquiries, in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.
14.2 Personal data will be kept secure and will not be sold to third parties. It may be shared with service providers or authorities where required to deliver the services, process payments, or comply with legal obligations.
15. Changes to These Terms
Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of the booking will apply to that particular booking. Updated terms may be made available on request or by being published as part of general service information.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, or with the provision of the services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter, save that consumers residing elsewhere in the United Kingdom may be entitled to bring proceedings in their local courts.
17. General Provisions
17.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court or other competent authority, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remaining provisions, which shall continue to be valid and enforceable.
17.2 No failure or delay by Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy.
17.3 The Agreement is between Tufnell Park Carpet Cleaning and the Customer. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
17.4 These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the parties in relation to the services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence or understandings.
